Twenty More Doctors would be sent to Rourkela Soon

CHIEF SECRETARY REVIEWED COVID SITUATION AT ROURKELA

Bhubaneswar: By instructions of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patanaik, Chief Secretary Sri Asit Tripathy accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Sri Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra visited Rourkela today and reviewed COVID management by the District Administration there.  Chief Secretary also visited Hi- Tech hospital, Jaiprakash hospital and Shanti Memorial hospital in Rourkela and looked into the treatment facilities there.

After visit and review,   Chief Secretary Sri Tripathy said, “As of now, the dist admin Sundargarh has managed Covid-19 situation in a very disciplined and organized manner. Two ICUSs are presently operating at Rourkela. Another will be set up soon”.  Further, Sri Tripathy said that 20 more doctors would be sent to Rourkela soon. They would join in a day or two. Chief Secretary also directed Rourkela Municipal Corporation to start Jan Samparka Campaign involving the people’s representatives and community organizations for intensive house to house intensive awareness and preventive activities. Sri Tripathy also directed to carry on other immunization programmes uninterruptedly.

Additional Chief Secretary Sri P. K. Mohapatra said, “Presently plasma bank is functioning properly at Rourkela. The sero survey undertaken by RMRC, Bhubaneswar shows that around 25 percent people in Rourkela have developed anti-body against Covid-19, which is a good sign”. Sri Mohapatra directed to redeploy the health staff engaged in 297 covid care centers set up at GP level since the people admitted there had already been discharged after getting well and there were no person in many of the centers.

Collector Sundargarh Sri Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, Director DMET Dr CBK Mohanty,  ADM Sri Aboli Sunil Narwne, Municipal Commissioner Rourkela Sri Divya Jyoti Parida, Chief District Medical Officer along with other senior officers presented updated information in the review meeting.
