IPCA organises 3rd edition of Art residency programme “VISTAS-2019”

Bhubaneswar : The 3rd edition of art residency programme “VISTAS-2019” organised by the Ila Panda Centre for Arts (IPCA), Sahid Nagar concluded on Monday. The six-week art programme was inaugurated by esteemed members of IPCA advisory board, Sri Sitakant Mahapatra, Dr. J. P. Das, Sri Devdas Chhotray, Dr. Aurobindo Behera, in presence of Ms. Paramita Mahapatra, Founder & Trustee. Among other key members, Ms. Panchami Manoo Ukil, Chairperson, IPCA and Ms. Sunita Mohapatra, Executive Director of IPCA Managing Committee were also present on the occasion.

Six students of Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) participated in the residential art programme and showcased their paintings on the theme ‘landscapes’. The programme was mentored by renowned artist Sri Baladev Maharatha.

Speaking at the inauguration of the art residency programme, Ms. Paramita Mohapatra, Founder & Trustee of IPCA said, “VISTAS-2019 was an enriching experience for both the BFA students and visitors. It was an unique experience for the BFA students as they got an opportunity to spend time together under one roof for 6 weeks and shared experiences under the guidance of none other than Sri Baladev Maharatha, who is known for his art in Odisha and outside. Here one can witness the dynamic blend of past and present approaches to art with new perceptions instilled into it. The show was made special by the artists’ brilliant visualisation.”

The IPCA Art Residency is designed to facilitate emerging artists and students from the field of art to fine-tune their soft skills like communication, presentation, as well as inculcate a world view of contemporary art.
