IMFA has signed an MoU with NIT in memory of Dr Bansidhar Panda

Bhubaneswar: Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) has signed an MoU with NIT Rourkela to institute a Gold Medal in the memory of Dr Bansidhar Panda, Founder who passed away in 2018. It will be awarded every year to the topper in the B.Tech stream of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering starting with the batch of 2019.

IMFA is the country’s leading fully integrated producer of ferro alloys while National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela is a Government of India funded premier institute of higher learning for engineering, science and technology.

The MoU was signed on November 14th, 2019 at Rourkela between Mr Ashok Behera, Vice President & Head – Corporate Affairs & Legal, IMFA Ltd and Prof. Paradip Kumar Das, Registrar, NIT Rourkela in the presence of Prof. Animesh Biswas, Director, NIT Rourkela and other dignitaries.Commenting on the development, Mr Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director said: “I hope this award inspires not just the recipients but all metallurgy graduates to strive harder – there is nothing that would have pleased Dr Panda more than to see young men & women make a name for themselves in his chosen field.
