CM Naveen Patnaik receives Prestigious CSI E- Ratna Award

2nd Day of 53rd Annual Convention by Computer Society of India

Bhubaneswar :  On the occasion of its 53rd Edition, the Computer Society of India (CSI) 2020 conferred the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik with ‘CSI E-Ratna Award’ for recognition of his selfless service to its citizen and state through e-Governance and & ICT Initiatives in the presence of Dr. Achutya Samanta Hon’ble MP, Hon Fellow, CSI & Sri Manas Ranjan Patnaik, Convener CSI 2020 on the Second day of 53rd Annual International Convention which is the largest and prestigious IT convention of CSI held in first time in Bhubaneswar at KIIT University.

Speaking on the occasion Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik said, “I congratulate CSI for holding the IT Convention in Odisha. We in Odisha are transforming the state through 5T and we have taken up many developmental issues through Information Technology in Odisha.”

Apart from Hon’ble Chief Minister, other eminent dignitaries who received the SIG CSI e-governance Award on this ceremony were CSI Lifetime Award to Mr. Satish K.K, Hon Fellowship Awards to, Prof. Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Pro. VC KIIT and Hon’ble Minister of State, E&IT and Sports,Govt. of Odisha, Er Tushar Kanti Behera, Fellow Award to Dr. Gulshan Rai, Dr. A.K. Saini. The Computer Society of Odisha also conferred different states in which it conferred the IT Department of Govt of Odisha recived by Hon’ble Minister of State, E&IT and Sports,Govt. of Odisha, Er Tushar Kanti K Behera and IT Secretary Manoj Mishra.

The 2nd day also included technical sessions and seminar on theme Digital democracy & e- Democracy where different aspects of Digitization its impacts pros and cons in our lives etc were discussed with hundreds of delegated from different walks of life including industry experts, educationists, government officials and students. The convention has exhibition stalls which showcase emerging products and services of the industry. The convention will also help to attract investors in the sector of IT.

Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first and largest body of Computer professionals in India started in the year 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. The Annual Convention of CSI is the prestigious event of the Society being held every year since 1966 in different cities across India. The main features of the convention include technical sessions, tutorials, panel discussions, Exhibitions and awards ceremony.
